Airports

The best airport to fly into to get to Pistoia would be Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport. From there you can take a 30 minute direct train to Pistoia. Other Options: Leonardo da Vinci International Airport - Rome, ItalyMilano Malpensa Airport - Milan, Italy

How To Get To Pistoia

Traveling around Italy is pretty simple! If you choose to travel by train, please download the "Omio" app on your phone. Within the app you can search, compare, and book transportation across Italy. When booking please take the train directly into Stazione di Pistoia. The station is right near the center of town. If you choose to rent a car, you can do so from the airport. Please be sure to obtain an IDP (International Drivers Permit) before traveling to Italy. This takes minutes to obtain and can be done through AAA.

Q + A

We're so excited for you to explore this beautiful corner of Tuscany! Whether you're here for just the wedding or making a vacation out of it, Pistoia and its surroundings are filled with charm, history, and of course delicious food.

Wander the cobblestone streets, visit Piazza del Duomo with its stunning cathedral, and soak in the atmosphere of this lesser-known Tuscan gem. Don't miss the local markets and cozy cafes.

Explore Pistoria's Historic Center

You're in the heart of Tuscany - sip your way through the region's renowned wineries or join an olive oil tasting to learn why it's liquid gold here. Many estates offer tours just a short drive from town.

Wine & Olive Oil Tastings

Florence is just 40 minutes away by train - perfect for a day of Renaissance art, shopping, and gelato. Lucca (our favorite), with it's charming city walls you can bike around, is another must-visit just under an hour away.

Day Trips to Florence & Lucca

A short drive from Pistoia, Montecatini is known for its elegant thermal spas and funicular ride up to Montecatini Alto for breathtaking views.

Montecatini Terme & Thermal Baths

Indulge in Pistoia's traditional dishes - like farinata di cavalo nero and fresh pasta with wild boar ragu - paired, of course, with a glass of Tuscan red.

Taste the Local Flavors

Sometimes the best activity is simply slowing down. Take a drive or walk through the surrounding countryside to watch the sun set over the rolling vineyards and olive groves.
